If you know me at all, you know I’m serious about my skin care  (Morning skin care routine post  here ). A few months ago, I decided that going forward, my goal would be to replace any skin-care products I use up with products that meet the following criteria; effective, organic, quality, non-toxic. I won’t get into why, that’s a whole separate post. Well, since December I’ve had the pleasure of testing out a skin care routine from the natural skincare brand, Weleda.  When they asked me if I’d be interested in trying a few products, I couldn’t have been more excited.  I’ve actually been a loyal purchaser of  Skin Food for years but never explored their facial skin care line (old habits, you know?)

The One-Step Cleanser & Toner (good for normal to combination skin) contains olive oil and witch hazel to cleanse (even makeup!), tone, and leaves my skin with that super clean feeling without drying it out.  Plus it smells DIVINE.

The Wild Rose Renewing Day Cream & Night Creams are rich and creamy without feeling heavy or oily.  Rosehip seed oil is rich with antioxidants to protect against environmental damages and peach kernel oil helps to repair your skin’s natural barrier to prevent moisture loss. My skin just drinks it up and has been so plump and glowing lately.  Rose is quickly becoming my favourite scent these days and I look forward to my new routine at the end of the day.

The Wild Rose line is targeted towards smoothing fine lines and rejuvenating the skin so the eye cream from the same line is right up my alley.  I encourage everyone to use an eye cream, even in your 20’s as a preventative measure.   The Wild Rose Renewing Eye Cream helps to reduce puffiness and smooth fine lines around the eye area.  Tip for applying eye cream- use your ring finger (it’s very gentle) and tap the cream evenly around your orbital bone area.  Never rub or tug at your eye area.

Last but now least, the Skin Food Ultra Rich Cream.  You guys.  I’m not exaggerating when I say it lives up to the name.  It’s SO thick and rich with vitamin E, sunflower seed oil, and calendula flower extract. Perfect for hands, feet, elbows, and silky smooth legs!

Now since I love my new products so much, Weleda has provided me with a whole package to give away!

  1. I love to unwind almost every evening after pharmacy classes with a steaming hot bubble bath using my Dr. Teal’s lavender epsom salt bubble bath and a candle or two! I’m also in love with Purity products so I lather up in the amazing grace lotion 🙂

  2. Hi Jayme

I love to pamper myself with a great steam and facial. While that is setting I enjoy some nice relaxing quiet time with a cup of organic tea and a favorite cookbook while planning my weekly menu, being organized and prepared relaxes me. 🙂

  6. OH my goodness you’re post is amazing!! I absolutely LOVE trying new skin care. I have a hyperpigmentation above my top lip so I am always looking for natural products that won’t cause additional damage to my skin. My favorite way to wind down and pamper myself is by taking an extra long shower, maybe using a facial mask, and putting lotion alllllll over! I wish I had more time in the day to truly take care of my skin, but it’s a process. After I’m squeaky clean and relaxed, I like to light a candle and read in bed!! Thanks for sharing your skin care routine and advice:)

  7. I love to unwind by taking a bath with a lush bath bomb, some candles and a good book. Usually put on a face mask or hair mask and just relax. After that I like to crawl in bed with nice clean sheets and cuddle with the pups.

  8. Eeeek! I’ve heard so many great things about Weleda. My fave way to relax and unwind is to take a quick cleansing shower, and apply a deep conditioning hair treatment on. Then get out of the shower and put on a lovely face mask, and when that’s set up, jump back into the shower to wash everything off. Of course follow it up with putting on a velvety nighttime face moisturizer and some body lotion. It feels so good going to bed after all that pampering!

  11. Hi Jayme! My favorite way to unwind is to put on some leggings and a men’s t-shirt, put my hair up in a bun, and do my full face routine with a hydrating mask. I also like to read HGTV magazine while my face mask dries, enjoy a cup of tea, and just unwind!

  12. I’ve been replacing late-evening snacking as a way to unwind with skincare! I’ve never been one to use a lot of product, but now I’m enjoying the ritual of washing my face, moisturizing, using masks, and feeling pampered.

  13. I need a favorite way to unwind! With the stress of a toddler, dissertation and family I find that unwind usually means flop into bed. In a less stressful time, a bath and a face mask was total unwind time for me!

    1. Bath and a face mask are SO great. I hope you can find some time for yourself, I understand it must be so difficult right now. Even a few minutes every day may help a great deal. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate Brooke. Even if it’s not everyday, hopefully you can find something you can do for yourself that you can look forward too.

  15. Love this post!! I’m a very busy, working mom of 4 so it doesn’t take much to get me feeling relaxed. I love to sit outside at night with light music (usually jazz or country) and a face mask, glass of wine and a book.
